Free activities to get involved in this summer term

Group of people on the Wellbeing Woodland Walk

The team at Sport Lancaster is dedicated to providing an environment on campus where everybody feels confident to enjoy physical activity. Here are some free ways for the Lancaster University community to get moving during the summer term:

Weekly Wellbeing Walks

Every Monday, 12.15-12.45pm, Meeting point: University House

Slow down, breathe in the fresh air, and appreciate the beautiful outdoors. The Woodland Walk surrounding the campus provides the University community an opportunity to disconnect from any stresses and reconnect with the environment.

Guided 30-minute walks take place every Monday, led by Sam Cadwallader, Engagement and Wellbeing Manager at Sport Lancaster, and all abilities are welcome.

The walks commence from University House Reception at 12.15pm.

Weekly Running Club

Every Thursday, 1.30-2.15pm, Meeting point: Sport Lancaster

Sport Lancaster’s weekly Running Club is a safe space for complete beginners and advanced runners. The added benefit to joining this weekly club is new friendships and a support system involving witnessing each other’s achievements.

Whether you're a seasoned runner or just starting out, the club offers a supportive and inclusive environment for all fitness levels. Lace up your running shoes and join a passionate community of like-minded individuals with a goal to stay active and achieve new running goals.

Move and Groove

Every Tuesday, 12.30-1.15pm, Chaplaincy Centre, Led by Michele Aldridge

Move and Groove is a dance-inspired session that welcomes all ages and abilities, participants don’t need to be able to dance to join in. Featuring a variety of music and styles to suit all, there is no right or wrong in this class. It is about having fun, keeping fit, and enjoying yourself!
